On October 31, 2024, Shabaka Hutchings performed at St Paul’s Sessions 7 in Athens, presenting his visionary solo project at the Ioannis Despotopoulos Amphitheatre of the Athens Conservatoire.
He was joined on stage by Hinako Omori (synths), Miriam Adefris (harp), Alina Bzhezhinska (harp) and Elliot Galvin (piano), creating an ensemble that expanded the sonic palette far beyond the flute.
The sold-out concert revealed a new, more introspective dimension of Shabaka’s artistry, blending spiritual jazz with meditative soundscapes and highlighting his unique role as one of the most influential voices in contemporary improvised music.
